Discrepancies galore have cropped up in the racial profiling case of Harvard professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr, due to Cambridge police officer, James Crowley, being caught in several lies, via a corrupted report he filed on the incident.
As covered yesterday, Officer Crowley claimed Professor Gates told him, "I'll talk to your mama outside" and also wrote he did not furnish him with a State ID/drivers license, which has been disputed.

The citizen, Lucia Whalen, who did her civic duty, in calling in what she thought was a break-in, not only refutes meeting and speaking with Officer Crowley, she also stated she did not tell him it was a black man breaking an entry, which is supported by the 911 tapes released yesterday.

It is unlawful to lie in a police report and it is conduct worthy of disciplinary action to the offending officer. While I do agree there needs to be racial reconciliation and forgiveness in this case, all color issues aside, Officer Crowley's dodgy report needs to be addressed.
Telling tall tales in such a document is a serious offense, not permissible by a cop of any race or nationality, anywhere in the world. Two people, Professor Gates and the witness, Lucia Whalen, are stating he is lying.

...Attorney Wendy Murphy, who represents Whalen, also categorically rejected part of the police report that said Whalen talked with Sgt. James Crowley, the arresting officer, at the scene.
"Let me be clear: She never had a conversation with Sgt. Crowley at the scene," Murphy told CNN by phone. "And she never said to any police officer or to anybody 'two black men.' She never used the word 'black.' Period."
She added, "I'm not sure what the police explanation will be. Frankly, I don't care. Her only goal is to make it clear she never described them as black. She never saw their race. ... All she reported was behavior, not skin color."...

Significant discrepancies, if you ask me.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as he looked across the threshold of his home at Sgt. James Crowley. Looking back at Gates, Crowley worried about making it home safely to his wife and three children.
Fear was the only thing the white police officer and black scholar had in common. Soon their many differences would collide, exploding into a colossal misunderstanding...
"During the renovation workers would often take Gates for a servant and ask to be pointed to the house's owner. The drivers of delivery trucks made the same mistake."

Gates doesn't let up. Crowley says he'll talk to Gates outside. Then he says something Crowley understands perfectly, boiling down his 2,095 pages of "Africana" down into one cry of resistance:

It has been suspected that Omer Bhatti, originally from Norway, was Jackson's illegitimate child for years, stemming from a 1983 fling with the boys mother.
Bhatti and Jackson first met when he was 12, on vacation with his family in Tunisia, reports UK paper The Mirror.
Jackson was so smitten he had the entire boys family moved to Neverland Ranch, where he employed both of his parents and often engaged in sleepovers with Bhatti, the report says.
"Michael is not my father. He and I were just very, very close. He was my best friend," the paper say Bhatti imparted to a friend.
Bhatti and brood returned to Norway in 1994 at the start of Jackson's financial woe. And, although never claiming to be his son, was welcomed with the most immediate of family at Jackson's televised memorial.

President Barack Obama has invited friend and Harvard professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge Police officer, James Crowley, to meet with him for a drink at the White House.
The meeting centers on an incident of racial profiling that occurred recently, regarding Officer Crowley, arresting Professor Gates, for allegedly disturbing the peace.

Crowley, responded to a call regarding what looked like a break-in at the Professor's residence, when in actuality, Gates was trying to unjam his front door, after returning home from overseas.
The two men argued in the professor's kitchen. Gates took offense at Crowley's attitude and allegations, especially his resistance in furnishing him with his name and badge number. Crowley decided he was going to get even.
Based on what I read today regarding the police report, I get the impression, in order to make the highly questionable arrest, Crowley engaged in entrapment, demanding an upset and offended Gates come outside to the porch to speak with him.
The minute Gates stepped out on his own porch, Crowley, slapped handcuffs on him, stating he was disturbing the peace, also known as entrapment. Crowley lured him onto the porch with the sole intent of a vengeful arrest on his own property.

I have respect for the police, but I do not respect what Officer Crowley did in arresting a 58-year-old professor that walks with a cane, on his own porch, for daring to exercise his right to free speech.
Such conduct fosters mistrust among the public regarding law enforcement. When millions of young minorities read such stories, it does not encourage them to trust the police.

At least in the popular mind, flare-ups between police and minorities tend to occur in the 'hoods and barrios of poverty-ridden American cities. But the liberal bastion of Cambridge, Mass. (per capita income: $31,156; black population: 12 percent), the home of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has its own complex encounters with racial attitudes.
Five years ago, Harvard's S. Allen Counter, a black professor of neuroscience, was stopped by Harvard campus police in what many saw as a racial-profiling incident.
About three years later, an assistant professor at MIT, James Sherley, raised a ruckus over his failure to get tenure, a decision that he claimed was race-based.

July 25, 2009 - In Massachusetts and other states, such laws give police wide power to arrest someone acting abusively toward them in public.
Reporting from Washington -- For some defense lawyers, the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was less about racial profiling than about how persons can be arrested simply for speaking angry words to a police officer.
The laws against "disorderly conduct" give police wide power to arrest people who are said to be disturbing the peace or disrupting the neighborhood.
In Massachusetts and elsewhere, courts have said the "disorderly acts or language" must take place in public where others can be disturbed.
It is probably not a crime of disorderly conduct for a homeowner, standing in his own kitchen, to speak abusively to a police officer.
According to his police report, Sgt. James Crowley said the professor was "yelling very loud" and "accusing me of being a racist."
Complaining that the "acoustics of the kitchen" made it difficult to communicate, the officer said he "told Gates that I would speak with him outside."
Once on the front porch, the officer arrested Gates for being loud and abusive in the presence of several neighbors who had gathered on the sidewalk.
"You might think that in the United States, you have a right to state an opinion, even an offensive opinion. But prosecutors like to say you don't have a right to mouth off to the police," said Boston defense lawyer Samuel Goldberg.
"Gates was saying, 'You are hassling me because I'm black.' I understand how that's offensive to a police officer.
"It's astounding to me to call it criminal."
Police officers can arrest people in their own homes for accosting police, interfering with an investigation or resisting a lawful arrest. But Gates was not accused of interfering with an investigation.
"I would say it is not constitutional to arrest someone in his home just for being loud and abusive to a police officer," said Boston University law professor Tracey Maclin. "That's why the cop asked him to come outside, where he could be arrested for being disorderly in public."...

President Barack Obama has expressed regret over his choice of words, regarding the Cambridge Police department, who arrested his friend, professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., in his own home, in an incident of racial profiling, which the head of state referred to as the cop, "Acted stupidly."
The President has called the police officer James Crowley and the professor to talk the matter over.
I do believe officer Crowley was in the wrong. Not because he is a police officer and not because he is white. I believe he is in the wrong, because America and most English speaking countries, offer their citizens free speech and freedom from improper searches.
Officer Crowley willfully violated both tenets of the U.S. Constitution, in trying to teach an offended black man a lesson, for daring to speak to him in less than reverential tones, because his rights had been violated.
Officer Crowley refused to give his name and badge number, because he knew he was in the wrong. Hence the police department dropping the charges.
Disorderly conduct is public inebriation, fighting, issuing death threats and threats of violence. Based on what has been released, Professor Gates did none of those things.
It is you, Officer Crowley, that owes the professor and America an apology, for doing your duties with bias and abusing your post. Your pride and ego have gotten you into trouble. This story is being carried all over the world and the general consensus is you are in the wrong.
The next time you try to lock up a black man on trumped up charges, check to make sure he does not have access to the press, with the ability to embarrass you.
I know if such a thing had happened to me, I would be very offended and upset.
Side Bar: while I do not recommend it, all he had to do was tell the professor "your mama" back and call it a day, if he was that incensed at Gates exercising his right to free speech, in his own home, in a non-threatening manner. Obama placed calls to both the professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr., and the man who arrested him, Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge, Mass., Police Department, two days after saying police officers had "acted stupidly" in hauling Gates from his home in handcuffs. Obama said he still considered the arrest "an overreaction," but added that "Professor Gates probably overreacted as well."
"I obviously helped to contribute ratcheting it up," the president said during an appearance in the White House briefing room. "I want to make clear that in my choice of words, I think I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sargeant Crowley specifically, and I could have calibrated those words differently."...

There are cases that have surfaced around the country, regarding depraved people using hidden cameras to film people without their knowledge or permission, where prosecutors obtained guilty verdicts and prison sentences for the culprits.
In many of the cases, individuals sick enough to install hidden cameras, breaking the law, were found to be pedophiles as well. It all falls under the umbrella of sexual deviance. It takes a deeply depraved person to do such a thing.
Ephraim Cohen, a spokesman for the video portal Daily Motion, could not confirm the video had actually appeared on his company's site, but said it may have been there months ago. He said a search for the name of the user who purportedly uploaded the video showed the person had opened an account in February, but had since closed it.
"As far as we can tell, the user took the account and the video down a while ago," he said.

He says the peeper was probably in an adjoining hotel room (not, as many people seem to think, on the other side of a peephole), having threaded a gooseneck or fiber-optic camera through a hole in the wall about a quarter-inch across. "I doubt the wall was concrete," says Jon, who asked me not to use his last name. "Any kind of sheetrock or plaster, you could use a penknife, if you have the time to do it."
"I think somebody was on the other side of the wall," he adds. "It's not like he put something in [in her room]. He's able to move the camera from her torso down, so somebody was doing it"
It's not an expensive operation, either. The camera wouldn't have cost more than $240, according to Jon. On the other side of the wall, it would've been hooked up to a digital video recorder that retails at $400, tops. This is horrifyingly basic equipment, cheaply purchased and easily operated.
"And if the person does it a lot," Jon says, a little ruefully, "it's not a big investment."
Once again, Sony artist Beyonce Knowles, has stolen songwriter's credit, regarding music she did not write, for accolades she did not deserve on royalties she decided to steal.

The U.S. House of Representatives has impeached federal judge, Samuel Kent, as he was convicted of sexually assaulting two women that worked in the courthouse he maintained chambers.
Upon the jury reaching a guilty verdict, Kent irresponsibly blamed alcoholism for all his problems. His rulings often contained sarcasm, nastiness, arrogance, bullying and insults, all violations of the Judicial Canons, governing federal judges.
The House was forced to impeach him, when he did not resign, in a bid to collect over $174,000 per year in salary, which judges are guaranteed for life, unless they are removed under certain circumstances. He forced Congress' hand and they called his bluff.
The U.S. judiciary still has federal judges on the bench, operating in criminal violation of the law, accepting cash and stock bribes, to rule in favor of criminals.
It is apart of the reason the U.S. economic crisis has reached such unprecedented levels, as some judges, deliberately failed to bring wealthy criminals to justice, who have been running running ponzi schemes, scams and financial frauds, in cases brought before them, that they accepted bribes to corrupt. House impeaches federal judge from Texas
Jun 19 03:31 PM US/Eastern - WASHINGTON (AP) - The House has impeached a federal judge from Texas for lying about the sexual assaults of two women. It was the House's first impeachment vote since it brought charges against President Bill Clinton in 1998.
The vote Friday sets up a trial in the Senate on the impeachment charges against U.S. District Judge Samuel Kent.
Kent entered a federal prison in Massachusetts Monday to serve a 33-month sentence for lying about sexually assaulting two female employees.
Kent is refusing to resign until next year so he can draw his $174,000 a year salary while in prison. If he is convicted of the impeachment charges in the Senate, he will be forced out of office and his pay will be cut off.
House committee sends judge's impeachment to House
Dick DeGuerin, Kent's attorney, sent a letter to the committee late Tuesday saying the women's testimony was "greatly exaggerated and flatly false." He denied allegations that Kent had used racial slurs against African Americans, saying Kent has been given many awards by the NAACP.
In what should not be surprising news, U.S. President Barack Obama, has improved America's image in the world, which after the damage Bush wrought, was no small feat.
Other nations, based on interviews and articles in the international press, had genuinely become suspicious, mistrusting and incensed with America, over George W. Bush and Dick Cheney's open defiance of international and domestic law.
The war for oil in Iraq, outraged and appalled many. Bush's Gitmo and renditions, trespassed and stepped on the toes of many world governments. He started off with some humility, then his arrogance and insolence towards others in the world and in America, grew by leaps and bounds.
It created a lot of ill will in the world, that is dangerous to everyday Americans. The Bush administration became so sinister and created so much anti-American sentiment in the world, as a U.S. citizen travelling abroad, one would be in for a world of abuse, pardon the pun. In some regions of the world that were once friendly, people wanted Americans dead.
With the introduction of Obama on the foreign stage and goodwill gestures he has made in the world, quite a few disillusioned hearts have melted.
They may not share the same political views, but the mere fact someone is treating them like a human being and is not speaking to them like they are subhuman, even shaking their hand, goes a long way. He is off to a good start in this endeavor.
Obama repairs US image abroad

The Pew Global Attitudes Project reported today that that favorability ratings for the US among people around the globe have improved markedly, recovering in many countries to the point before George W. Bush took office and began the highly unpopular war in Iraq.
"Improvements in the U.S. image have been most pronounced in Western Europe, where favorable ratings for both the nation and the American people have soared. But opinions of America have also become more positive in key countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia, as well," says the project, which surveyed 25 nations this spring.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's popularity has boosted America's image abroad even though deep suspicions about the U.S. persist in the Muslim world, according to a poll released Thursday.
The survey of two dozen nations conducted this spring by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center found that positive public attitudes toward the United States have surged in many parts of the world since Obama's election.
Positive opinions about the United States have returned to higher levels not seen since before President George W. Bush took office in 2001. The Bush presidency marked a steep decline in U.S. popularity overseas, notably after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, because of a perception that the post-9/11 war on terrorism was targeted at Muslims.
"The image of the United States has improved markedly in most parts of the world, reflecting global confidence in Barack Obama," the center said in its annual Pew Global Attitudes Report.
The only exception was Israel, where attitudes toward the U.S. have dipped since Bush left office.
The improvements "are being driven much more by personal confidence in Obama than by opinions about his specific policies," Pew reported.
At the same time, several specific administration policies drew near universal acclaim, including Obama's pledge to close the Navy-run detention facility for terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the U.S. timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, the survey found.
44 people were arrested in New Jersey today in a FBI corruption sting that netted three local mayors, among others, on corruption charges.
It appears an FBI informant, who was arrested in 2006, squealed on everyone and agreed to go undercover to furnish the Feds with the evidence required to make the case. The misconduct includes political bribes, illegal kidney sales and money laundering.
Mayors, rabbis arrested in NJ corruption probe

Among the 44 people arrested were Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, who took office 23 days ago.
Cammarano, at 31 the city's youngest mayor, was charged with taking $25,000 in bribes, including $10,000 last Thursday, said the U.S. Attorney's office in Newark, New Jersey...
Central to the investigation was an informant who was charged with bank fraud in 2006 and posed undercover as a real estate developer and owner of a tile business hoping to build projects and win public contracts in northern New Jersey, according to documents in the case...
They laundered some $3 million for the undercover witness between June 2007 and July 2009, authorities said.
